Hopefully, Mother Nature has made up her mind and we are done with the snow until December. That means, sunshine and fun for the Tri-States, and I am always looking for both when trying to find things to do with my girls. See Quincy, has put together a great list of some of the best family friendly places to visit this spring and summer.

AUTUMN MOON FAMILY FARM

Located at 122 E. Mill Street in Mendon, Illinois visitors can enjoy old-fashioned games, a pumpkin farm in the fall and bonfires.

BOB BANGERT PARK/QUINCY RIVERFRONT

There's so much to do at this park. See the wetlands, there are nature summer programs, and shore fishing.

EDGEWOOD ORCHARDS

Two words, APPLE SLUSHIES! Located at 1628 Edgewood Orchard Lane, Edgewood is known for their fresh apples, pies, and other homemade goodies. Oh, did I mention apple slushies.

FALL CREEK SCENIC OVERLOOK

You will find this beautiful backdrop in Payson at 1130 N. 223rd Lane. See the historic 1855 stone bridge, plus the overlook of the Mississippi River Valley and over 200 acres of woods, creeks, waterfalls and wildlife. This will keep the family busy for a day (or two).

FOUR WINDS FARM

This farm has been family-owned for six generations and features themed gardens, organic herbs, veggies, fruits, and so much more.

LOCK & DAM 21

Check out the Mississippi River like you've never seen it before on the observation deck, and it's a great place to spot and watch Bald Eagles.

MILL CRFEEK FARM

One of my families favorite places to visit in the fall with hayrides, pumpkin picking, corn maze and fresh produce.

PORCHER'S ROCK CREEK STABLES

Located at 5028 W. Saint Anthony Road, they offer riding lessons and training, plus special trail riding events.

QUINCY FARMERS MARKET

The famers market is getting ready to kick off another season soon, and is always bringing new items to the market. From veggies, and fresh fruit to flowers and so much more. Hosted every Saturday in Washington Park, the market is a great way to support local.

QUINSIPPI ISLAND

I quite place to visit with an island park and a beach to out your feet in  the sand.

SPRING VALLEY TRAILS & ARBORETUM

You can find this trail at JWCC (1301 S. 48th and has a really neat walking trail, and wild flower & butterfly gardens.

TERRIPIN FARMS

They have the biggest and most beautiful sunflower farm/maze I've ever seen, plenty of photo opportunities for the family, senior photos, and selfies. Plenty of activities for the kids each weekend, and fresh produce offered everyday. A must stop farm to visit this spring and summer.
