If you've ever wanted to be a zombie in a movie, here's your chance. The finishing touches are being put on American Revenant, a short film being shot in Hannibal that will bring the zombie apocalypse to America's Hometown. One big scene featuring a "zombie horde" still needs to be shot, and the local filmmakers being the project could use your help.

Those wishing to appear among the zombie horde are being asked to gather at Central Park in Hannibal at 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 20. Come as you are, do your own makeup, bring friends. Minor children must be accompanied by a guardian. Zombie extras should come in costume and do their own makeup. A Facebook post from the American Revenant Movie says, "Come as you are, do your own makeup, bring friends."

American Revenant is based on a series of novels written by local author John L. Davis. "The script was adapted for film by the director, Josh Mullner. It is our hope that the movie will draw readers to the book series, while at the same time thrilling viewers with a dramatic tale of the fight for survival in the early days of the zombie apocalypse in Hannibal," said Davis.

Mullner and Davis are hoping to have the film completely finished and ready for its debut in October. Davis says that Sunday's shoot will be the final day of filming. "This Sunday, September 20 is going to be our final day of filming. We have some scenery stuff to shoot and another little scene during the day, then we are going to gather a horde to get the final shots. These are going to be mostly aerial Shots to show the scope of the horde. We hope to have a lot of people come to the park at 5 p.m. Sunday, really have a massive horde. People are welcome to do their own zombie makeup and be creative in their clothing choices. Once we finish this weekend then the movie will go into the editing and music phases of production. We are still working out the details on a free public showing and people and keep up to date with that on the American Revenant Movie Facebook page."
