There are so many fun things you can do in our area. Missouri and Illinois offer great fishing and hunting opportunities. For families, there are many amusement parks within an easy day trip. Oh, and there's surfing. That's right. I can make the case that surfing in Missouri is highly underrated.

When you think of surfing, perhaps you think of Florida or California. Maybe you should add Missouri to that list of consideration. Specifically, Missouri's many rivers. Watch these guys help me make my case.

See what I mean? Most excellent Missouri...surfing. Jack's Fork, Buffalo River, Eleven Points and King's River are just a few of the many river options. I could also argue since we have something that the coastal states don't have. That is a lack of sharks. Oh, wait.

Well, at least they're not in the rivers...yet.

Sure, there are many more civilized amusement parks with water options like Big Surf or Mark Twain Lake's Jellystone Park, etc. But, navigating the waters and sometimes the rapids of a Missouri river is next level stuff.

No, my case will likely not make Missouri surfing more prominent, but it seriously is worth considering if you have the skills to do it safely and are looking for a completely unique adventure option.
