Why This Missouri Lake is the Most Underrated in America

I don't understand why a lake in Missouri is frequently overlooked when you come across "best" this or "best" that involving water areas. I can argue that this Missouri lake is the most underrated place in America.

Before I make my case that Bull Shoals is the most underrated lake in America, check out this brand new drone video of this gorgeous place.

Let's address the elephant in the room by acknowledging that Bull Shoals is as much an Arkansas lake as it is a Missouri lake. It literally straddles the border as this map shows.

If you look at lists of the best lakes in America like the one Planet Ware shared, you'll see Lake of the Ozarks (well deserved) along with many other great water areas, but you will almost never see Bull Shoals. Same for the best lakes list by Travel and Leisure.

My theory is that those that keep track of what is considered a best lake is they underestimate how the fishing is in a particular area. Bull Shoals is almost unmatched when it comes to the variety of fish you can snag there.

Am I alone in my thinking? My guess is that there are legions of fisherman at least who understand why Bull Shoals should get more notice for being the awesome place it is. On the other hand, maybe it's better this way. Let the rest of America ignore Bull Shoals and we'll keep this special lake place all to ourselves.
