The beautiful weather in evidence over the weekend continues Monday, with conditions settling into a more seasonal pattern this week in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

National Weather Service forecasters call for a gorgeous Monday, with highs in the upper 70s. That, along with gusty winds, leads to an advisory for an elevated fire danger across the area.

Things will cool off the rest of the week, with highs mostly in the low to mid 50s through Sunday, perhaps touching 60 Friday and Saturday.

After a low in the mid 40s Monday night, lows for the week settle into the 30s through Sunday.

Forecasters are calling for a slight chance of rain Wednesday night through Friday.

In case you're wondering, spring officially arrives at 5:45 p.m. Friday.
