Two Quincy residents face methamphetamine related charges following a search  at 830 North 22nd.

West Central Illinois Task Force agents say a shake and bake meth lab was seized along with a quantity of methamphetamine. The search resulted in the arrests of 55-year-old Thomas Embree and 56-year-old Cathy O’Connor.

Both are charged with aggravated unlawful participation in meth production, possession of meth precursors, possession of meth waste and unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Both are held in the Adams County Jail.

Task force officials say the investigation started following suspicious purchases at area retail stores. Court records indicate Embree was arrested in 1999 on meth manufacturing charges. Those charges were dismissed with the case transferred into the federal system.

Task force agents were assisted by Adams County Sheriff’s deputies, Quincy Police and the Illinois State Police Meth Response Team.
