A Hannibal man accused of killing a Hannibal woman last August has asked for a new judge and a change of venue.

Attorneys representing 49-year-old Travis Lane made the requests at a hearing in Marion County Circuit Court Friday.

The arraignment hearing that had been scheduled for Friday was postponed.

Lane is charged with second degree murder as a result of the beating death of 28-year-old Jennie Jo Blankenship in a Hannibal apartment last August 16.

Lane’s case will be assigned to another judge in another jurisdiction. His next court date has not been set.

Lane is in the Marion County Jail on $250,000 bond.
