We all have our ways of dealing with winter. For me, my mind leaves the current cold and/or snow and imagines where my family can go once spring gets here. A new addition to my list is a lazy Missouri float trip that begins near a gorgeous waterfall.

My dad and I used to canoe some of the rivers in southeastern Missouri, but never really ventured west in the state. That may have been a mistake as I've come across video of Shoal Creek near Joplin. It's a place where you can enter the water below the Grand Falls. It's spectacular.

There's a reason why this is almost all 5-star ratings on TripAdvisor. It's a float that's not intense at all and involves water that mainly looks like this.

Plus, you even get a cool bridge view along the route.

This couple used inflatable paddleboards which look like a fun option. Unlike Eleven Point River where my dad and I used to float, there doesn't appear to be any intense rapids to navigate.

Someone on TripAdvisor mentioned that Grand Falls is the largest continuous waterfall in Missouri. Not sure about that, but it sure is nice to look at. This waterway in Missouri is now on my list of potential day trips for the family. Maybe it would be an idea for yours also.
