National Guard

It sounds like a plot for a major motion picture disaster movie, but it's a real scenario that has already been played out by the Missouri National Guard. What if Bagnell Dam failed? It would mean disaster downstream in less than 1 hour.

If you happened to be in the St. Louis, Missouri area earlier this week, you might have seen National Guard troops on the streets and wondered what was going on. No reason for alarm as there's a very good reason why those troops had smashed vehicles and emergency tents set up. They were practicing for a massive New Madrid earthquake. Wait. What?

If I didn't know better, I'd think that the world was about to end based on the number of warnings and cautions I'm hearing about the upcoming total solar eclipse. There's a new one and this time it's a dire one for cell phone users coming to Missouri for the admittedly historic sky event we're about to witness.

I may not be the most objective person in the world since I've had many family members serve in the Missouri National Guard, but I always know they have our back. More proof of that as pictures show they are out rescuing stranded motorists from the most recent snowstorm.
