If you fancy yourself a chocolate connoisseur, you'll be happy to learn that there is a $75 million dollar chocolate processing plant that is apparently coming to Illinois.

I first spotted this great chocolate news on the Illinois sub-Reddit page.  It led to an article on Construction Review Online explaining that a $75 million dollar chocolate processing plant is being built in Bloomington, Illinois. The company is Ferrero Rocher and they make chocolate. Lots and lots of chocolate.

Based on their report, it's gonna be a huge building occupying over 70,000 square feet. They quoted the company CEO who explained why Bloomington, Illinois was their choice for a new chocolate headquarters:

Todd Siwak, the company CEO, stated that the location was the most appealing than the other facilities in Illinois and North America because “what became evident to us over the last three years is how supportive this community is, and how it is supported by a deep network of skilled and talented team members who are willing to join the Ferrero team.”

The fact that all of us love chocolate might have factored into that decision, too. Or, maybe not.

When I hear that Illinois is getting some elaborate new chocolate factory digs, my mind immediately returns to that favorite movie of childhood. Paging Mr. Willy Wonka.
