Quincy Police have arrested a 31-year-old woman for allegedly breaking in and attempting to steal items from the Gardner Museum.

According to police, Sommer D. Young of Warrensburg, Missouri was found inside the museum after officers responded to a glass break alarm just after 5 a.m. on Thursday morning.

Young was arrested and taken to the Adams County Jail.

At approximately 0518 hours on 08-06-2015, Quincy Police Officers responded to a glass break alarm at the Gardner Museum located at 332 Maine Street. Once on scene, officers found that a window on the northwest side of the building had been shattered by a large rock. Officers then immediately found 31-Year-old Sommer D. Young inside of the building removing items from the museum. Young was immediately taken into custody and transported to headquarters for processing. Young was fingerprinted, photographed, and ultimately lodged in the Adams County Jail on a charge of Burglary.
