Preliminary efforts are underway to attract riverboats to Quincy.

The District recently created a riverfront development committee tasked to capitalize on the large riverboats to increase tourism from riverboats like the American Queen. The big riverboats cruise the Mississippi from mid April until cold weather arrives. Hannibal has been a stop for many years. Officials of The District hopes to tap into that source of toursim dollars.  The committee is in its early planning stages. There is no time table for completion at this time.
