The Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department reports that portions of Palmyra Road will be closed to through traffic starting Monday. The project calls for sidewalk to be installed from Bay Avenue to the entrance to Riverview Park.

Officials say the first section to be shut down will be from Bay Avenue to Central Avenue.

Emergency personnel and individuals living in impacted neighborhoods will still be able to get through on Palmyra Road.

Most of the final phase of the sidewalk project will be paid for by a nearly $300,000 grant that was secured in 2019 from the Missouri Department of Transportation.
