No one was hurt, but one driver was ticketed as the result of a two vehicle crash on Hancock County Road 2800 E southwest of Augusta at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reports 20-year-old Halee Eichman of Augusta was eastbound and drove through a railroad crossing with the warning signal activated by an oncoming train. After going through the crossing, Eichman’s collided head on with a pick-up driven by 20-year-old Jhalen Williams of Macomb.

Eichman and her juvenile passenger got out of her car, but then the car rolled backward into the crossing and struck the moving train. The train carried the Eichman car about 85 feet.

The crossing was blocked for about two-and-a-half hours while the train was put back in service.

Eichman was ticketed for disobeying a signal indicating an approaching train and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
