Nestle Recalls Select ‘Drumstick’ Ice Cream Cones

Nestle USA, Inc. is issuing a voluntary recall of their famous Nestle Drumstick Club ice cream cones (16 count Variety Pack and 24 count Vanilla Pack) due to Listeria concerns.

While no actual food products have tested positive, and no illnesses have been reported, the company has received “Listeria monocytogene” positive tests on equipment in the production line where the products are made.

According to the press release from Nestle, "Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women."
