A Monroe City man is in the Adams County Jail in connection with a couple of break-ins in Quincy Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies responded first to a report of a break-in at the guard shack at Trinity Industries just before 3 p.m. Wednesday. An employee saw a man take a fire extinguisher from the shack and leave on foot northbound on Highway 57.

The man was identified as 30 year old William Callihan of Monroe City. The ID was made because Callihan dropped his wallet that contained his identification in the guard shack.

A short time later, deputies learned that Callihan had used the fire extinguisher to break a glass door to gain entry into the office area at ADM.

Deputies caught up to Callihan near Gardner Denver, where he was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Callihan is being held without bond in the Adams County Jail.
