According to fox2now.com, there could be more filming happening in Missouri sooner rather than later if the state passes a bill aimed to give tax credits to filmmakers to film in Missouri. The bill is called House Bill 2473 also known as the "Show MO Act" and the representative that proposed the bill Democrat LaDonna Appelbaum cites that even a show like Ozark set I'm Missouri films mainly in Georgia due to the tax credits they get. In the article, they say the bill will provide...

"20 percent tax credit for all qualifying film productions... additional 5 percent tax credits if more than 50 percent of the production is filmed in Missouri... additional 5 percent tax credits if at least 15 percent of the production is filmed in a rural or blighted area...additional 5 percent tax credits if a certain number of Missouri residents are hired onto these productions...additional 5 percent tax credits if the production depicts the state or region in a positive light"

Wow, personally I think this bill is fantastic, mainly because it gives these massive productions a big incentive to film in Missouri, hire Missourians to work, do it in rural areas, and paint Missouri in a good light. I know that these Hollywood film jobs are not always wanted in certain states because they aren't permanent jobs, but if you can pass this bill and make Missouri into the next Georgia you would give big production companies a reason to build more permanent filming facilities in Missouri as they have outside of Atlanta.
