Curtis Lovelace was back in Adams County Circuit Court Friday morning for a motion hearing in his second murder trial.

Lovelace is accused of suffocating his first wife Cory with a pillow in 2006. A mistrial was declared due to a hung jury following a two week trial in February. A motion for a bond reduction from 5 million dollars to one million dollars was denied. Judge Bob Hardwick ordered the state of Illinois to pay to prepare transcripts for Lovelace. Lovelace’s new attorney says he needs the transcripts from the first trial to help prepare his new defense. The re-trial is currently scheduled to begin on July 25th with a backup date set for October 24th.
