Jury Duty Scam Hits NE Missouri

Yet another scam appears to be making the rounds in northeast Missouri.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous complaints of a scam demanding money for failing to show up for jury duty. The scammers are impersonating sheriff’s deputies and using fake badge numbers.

The sheriff’s office wants to reassure the public that they do not call and demand money at any time.
