US Marshals Capture Illinois Suspect Wanted for 1st Degree Murder
A woman lost her life from a gunshot wound in June in an East St. Louis, Illinois street and the suspect who is alleged to be responsible for the crime was on the run. However, US Marshals have now captured the Illinois man who allegedly is her killer.
The Illinois State Patrol shared in a press release this week that US Marshals had successfully captured an Illinois man who they had been pursuing. They said that on June 12, 2024, 42-year-old Kenyatta Brown of East St. Louis was found deceased in the 1300 block of 45th Street.
According to the Illinois State Police, US Marshals found 48-year-old Robert E. Hyde Jr. of Belleville, Illinois who has now been charged with First Degree Murder which is a Class M Felony. They located him Monday, July 29, 2024 in Caseyville, Illinois.
The press release says he's being held in the St. Clair County Jail. As this is a developing story, it will be updated once new information is released as this case proceeds.
You might recall that Illinois State Police recently completed a 3-night sting operation in East St. Louis which resulted in 19 felony charges and 33 criminal charges total.
