The good news for Missouri is that according to the data, the amount of power generated from Solar Energy was up 32% in 2023 compared to 2022. But there is concerning news, Missouri's Wind Energy fell in 2023, but that is on trend with the national average, as the whole country saw a decrease in Wind Energy in 2023.
How far behind is Missouri compared to Illinois? In the article, they say "In 2023, Illinois generated more than 25,500 gigawatt-hours of solar and wind energy, while Missouri produced about 7,700 gigawatt-hours." The answer to that question is a resounding NO...No, it is not fair to compare Illinois and its left-leaning leaders and values to Missouri and its right-leaning leaders and values. Also, Illinois has a lot more people than Missouri, double the number of people in fact, according to Wikipedia. So it makes sense that Illinois is leading its neighbor Missouri in the renewable energy category. I just wish Illinois would follow Missouri's lead with cheaper gas...
