A highly unusual earthquake has shaken the Kansas City, Missouri area on Friday with many in the area already reported feeling the shaker.

The USGS just confirmed this moderate quake that happened at approximately 1:46pm Friday, March 15, 2024. The preliminary magnitude is 3.5 just north/northeast of Ferrelview, Missouri on the Richter Scale.

While a 3.5 earthquake isn't large enough to create any real damage, it's very strange to see this significant a quake for western Missouri and not the New Madrid Fault Zone area.
