According to the experts at lawnstarter.com, Kansas City, Missouri is the number one BBQ city in America this year, 5 spots ahead of its across-the-state counterpart St. Louis, which ranks 6th on the list. The cities in the 2nd-5th spots are Memphis, Houston, Kansas City KANSAS, and Los Angeles. The BBQ is so good in the Kansas City area that the experts say the Kansas side BBQ is better than any BBQ you can find in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Orlando, or anywhere else.

What do they have to say about Kansas City being in the top spot? On the site, they say "Once the hottest name in the BBQ scene, legendary Arthur Bryant’s Barbeque finds plenty of competition in newer establishments like Chef J BBQ and Q39. This meat-loving city even has options for both vegans and carnivores at Char Bar." They mention that if you are new to BBQ and want to dive in head first, you should check out the Largest BBQ Contest in the World hosted in Kansas City. Did they get it right...?

Kansas City deserves the number 1 spot, BUT...I would not have split KC into a Missouri and Kansas side, it all is still KC BBQ. That would put St. Louis into the top 5 where it belongs, and I would argue that St. Louis should be ahead of Los Angeles, and only behind KC, Memphis, and Houston...Where would you rank St. Louis on this list?
