Barge Reportedly Slammed into the Fort Madison, Iowa Bridge

There is a report that a barge has slammed into the Fort Madison Bridge in Iowa and is now sinking. The bridge is reportedly closed as of this writing.

UPDATE: The Hancock County Sheriff's Office has confirmed the bridge was hit and that traffic is being rerouted.

UPDATE: 5/9/24 - 8:46pm - According to a post by the Fort Madison Police Department on their Facebook page, the bridge is now open again.
