Top 10 Kansas City Suburbs—Best Ones Aren’t in Missouri?

I have always had a soft spot in my heart for Kansas City. Specifically, the part of Kansas City that's in Missouri. That's why I was more than a little surprised when a new ranking of the best suburbs in KC did not place the best ones on the Missouri side of the state line.

I tend to enjoy rankings by Homesnacks. They use real data like crime rates and cost of living, affordability and the normal metrics used to measure how good a place is to live in (or not), but they also use a decent measure of snark to determine which suburbs get awards and which ones get a lump of coal in their stocking. I can't really fault them for placing the top 3 Kansas City suburbs in KANSAS since Travis Kelce also chose Leawood as his new home. Despite popular belief, I do have a few Kansas friends. We just agree to disagree when it comes to Mizzou/Jayhawks games. Crime rates in some of the Missouri suburbs aren't good news either which is likely why many of KC's best places to live are in the land of sunflowers.
