Missouri Couple Hear Terrifying Scream, Dog Vanishes in Woods

A couple who had just moved to one of the more rustic areas of Missouri say that not long after they arrived, they heard a terrifying scream from the woods and then their dog disappeared never to be seen again.

This new eyewitness story comes from the Summersville, Missouri region which is heavily wooded

James and Amy just shared their story with YouTube channel Sasquatch Theory. They said that they had just moved to this part of Missouri from Oklahoma because they wanted to enjoy the many outdoor activities that part of the state make possible. They had two dogs that relocated with them. One was an Australian Shepherd. The other was a yellow Labrador Retriever. Their lives changed one night when strange sounds started coming from the woods. It started after he let his dog outside to go to the bathroom and then he heard the animal frantically scratching at the door.

James - "He comes up...scratches on the door. As soon as I open the door...I hear this...longest scream I have ever heard in my life...it sounded like a freight train going off...really loud. Then, it paused and then did it again."

Alarmed, James runs to load up his shotgun and didn't sleep the rest of the night. Amy said she had never seen her husband scared until that night. Later on that morning, James was home alone with both of his dogs. He decided to work on his fence row which lasted for hours. When his wife arrived home, she realized that she couldn't find their female yellow lab. They searched the property, but no sign of her.

Was the source of that scream in the woods the reason for their dog's disappearance? Neighbors have told them that many dogs in that area have disappeared at night and they can't help but wonder if the creature that let out that blood-curdling scream is responsible.
