Strange Abandoned Illinois Funeral Home – Everything Left Behind

Everyone reacts differently to funeral homes. For me, they are a somewhat sacred place where families deal with the end of life for a loved one. Others are scared to death to set foot in one unless they have to. If you're a part of that second group, don't look at what urban explorers found inside an abandoned Illinois funeral home.

I thought I subscribed to Decaying Midwest on YouTube a long time ago, but somehow their exploration of this strange abandoned Illinois funeral home escaped me. They don't give the exact location of the place other than to say it is in Illinois and I'll leave it at that. What they found left behind was...odd.

Businesses open and close all the time and that includes funeral homes. I'm trying to imagine why whoever owned this Illinois place would leave so many things in the now abandoned building. Did they have to leave in a hurry or were there other factors? By the look of the white board inside, it looks like many urban explorers have been inside this place so it's obviously been sitting empty for awhile. As it stands, it's just an odd living memorial (albeit very abandoned) to what used to be a sacred place for many families who had loved ones taken care of here.
