This was supposed to be a secret - sort of. There's a new BBQ joint that has quietly opened in St. Louis, Missouri even though the official opening is yet to be announced. The good news is you can try them now if you know how.

I saw Feast Magazine share the latest restaurants in the St. Louis, Missouri area that have opened and closed recently. Among the "opened" list is a quiet mention of a new barbeque option in the big city which sounds rather interesting.

The new eatery is called Five Aces Smokestaq Lightning and it's softly opened it's doors at 724 N. First St., Laclede's Landing in St. Louis, Missouri. This is the building I believe they've opened in as seen on Google Maps Street View which does not show the new BBQ place.

The official Five Aces Smokestaq Lightning website says "we serve up mouthwatering barbecue cooked over an open flame with real wood".

How can you eat at a restaurant that isn't officially open yet?

As of this writing, you can only try this new St. Louis BBQ place Monday through Friday for lunch between 11am and 1:30pm. They're soft-launching to give their staff a chance to ramp up for the full-time open which they say will be sometime this Spring.

I have many friends that adventure in the St. Louis area during the weekdays that would likely enjoy exploring a new BBQ option especially one cooked over an open flame. Bring it on. Check out the official website for more information and updates.
