Popular Missouri Cars Recalled Because They Can Burst into Flames

There are car models that are very popular in Missouri that might be a hazard to their owners. An urgent recall has been issued by the government as owners are being advised to "park them outside" immediately.

The National Highway Transportation Safety Commission issued this urgent bulletin about specific makes and models of vehicles that are a fire risk. I've never heard of this before, but they've issued what they refer to as a "park outside" recall.

What makes and models are affected by this recall?

The recall comes from Hyundai Motor America and Kia America. They affect the following models:

According to Insurify, many of these models are among the most popular in Missouri.

The flaw involves what the NHTSA refers to as the "anti-lock brake system module could leak brake fluid internally and cause an electrical short. An electrical short could result in significant overcurrent in the ABS module, increasing the risk of an engine compartment fire while driving or parked"
