This University of Missouri Grad Made a Cameo in ‘Twisters’
It appears that the movie "Twisters" will be the big blockbuster of the summer based on the box office from the first few weeks in theaters. Did you know a University of Missouri graduate made a severe weather cameo in that hit movie?
Great catch by KRCG 13 who noticed that Emily Sutton was the one who did the brief severe weather warning during one scene in "Twisters". As they mention, she is now the morning meteorologist for the world-famous KFOR in Oklahoma City and ended up producing a fictional severe weather warning which was used in the movie.
According to her KFOR profile page, Emily says she graduated from the University of Missouri and saw her first tornado as a part of the university's storm chase team back in 2004. Her first on-air TV gig was in Columbia, Missouri in 2007, but she's now a part of the most famous meteorologist team in America as KFOR is legendary for their coverage of Oklahoma twisters.
Little did Emily Sutton know that her beginnings at Mizzou would lead her to the big screen in 2024's biggest movie so far.
