It's one of the most beautiful parts of Missouri, but sadly it's also one of the most dangerous lakes for various reasons. Sadly, there are multiple reports that the Lake of the Ozarks has just claimed 2 more lives.

KSDK is one of the many media outlets reporting that two Indian students drowned last weekend at Lake of the Ozarks. They report the victims were 24-year-old Uthej Kunta and 25-year-old Shiva Kelligari. According to multiple reports, Shiva Kelligari was struggling in the water near Bagnell Dam when his friend Uthej Kunta jumped in the water to try and rescue him. Both men sadly drowned. KSDK is reporting that they were both students at St. Louis University.

KFVS is reporting that the Missouri State Highway Patrol dive team, Lake Ozark Police Department, and the Lake Ozark Fire Department were all a part of rescue efforts to try and save the 2 men, but they were gone by the time they were reached.

As we shared a few weeks ago, multiple sites rank Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri as the most dangerous lake not just in Missouri, but also America. While there are no reports that alcohol or any foul play was involved in the death of Shiva and Uthej, it does contribute to many accidents in the Lake of the Ozarks region.

Missouri Highway Patrol Troop F are reportedly a part of the ongoing investigation into the circumstances of the sad passing of these two students.
