Missouri Family Heard Strange Sounds, Then Saw Lights in Sky
It almost sounds like the sub-plot of a Steven Spielberg movie. A family in Missouri heard strange sounds in their backyard, but when they went to see what it was they noticed strange lights in the sky and they have video to prove it.
This new share by the National UFO Reporting Center comes from Raytown, Missouri. According to the report, it happened during the early morning hours of August 18, 2026 at 1:50am local time. Here's a snippet of what the family reported:
"Me and daughter heard strange noises coming from the backyard and when trying to capture sound, I accidentally captured this instead...Flashing lights moving with a series of lights on a top row and then 2 flashing lights below."
They captured several pictures and videos which you can see for yourself on the NUFORC site. I've watched both videos and it's hard to tell what the object is. It looks to me like a triangular shape craft with two more prominent lights on the bottom. Imagine if a black triangle had jet engines on the bottom. That's what it looks like to me.
Something to consider: Raytown is a suburb on Kansas City which means you have to consider the Kansas City International Airport. That doesn't explain the object they witnessed, but it's not uncommon to have lights in the sky in that region. I wondered if the object might be a drone, but it doesn't look or move like a drone to me. The fact that it's not identified means (by definition), this Raytown, Missouri family saw a UFO.
