Missouri Gas Prices Are Rising—But Still Beating Most States
If you need to gas up, you might want to do it sooner rather than later. Gas prices are skyrocketing everywhere, but the good news is the price at the pump in Missouri is still lower than almost any other state.
Over just the past few days, I've watched gas prices at the stations in my part of Missouri zoom up more than 50 cents per gallon. Ouch. There's at least a little good news shared today by Cheapism that reveals gas prices in Missouri are still lower than most other states based on information provided by AAA. Here's their latest map showing average fuel prices for each state.
The average gas price in Missouri is just over $3 according to AAA. The stations I drove by earlier today were at $3.09. While that's still painful, it's less severe than many western states and Florida which are 60 cents per gallon higher on average.
If you live in Missouri, gas up as soon as possible
According to a new report from CNN today, the price of oil isn't done spiking yet. I've seen some viral photos being shared on social media of supposed gas prices in excess of $9 per gallon. I suspect that many of those are not real, but that doesn't mean the price at the pump in Missouri is going down anytime soon considering the instability in the Middle East and the ongoing conflict with Iran. I'd keep that gas tank filled as often as you can bear it and hope the price lords give us relief sooner rather than later.
