The Words Illinoisans Misspell More Than Any Others

Spelling is one of the most basic and first skills they teach you when you begin school. However, that does not stop many in Illinois from completely getting this wrong and I'd bet you'd be amazed at the really common words Illinoisans misspell the most.

I have previously shared that I was blown out of a spelling be when I was a kid for misspelling "surprise" so I'm not judging anyone. Spelling is like cursive writing to me in that modern technology and autocorrect on devices has lessened the importance of getting every single word right. I will say that there are times that I'm so far off from the spelling that even autocorrect seems to look at me with a stare of disbelief. If nothing else, be good enough at spelling so your device will know what you're trying to say and make it right. That's the admittedly low bar I've set for myself.
