Video Shows Missouri Tornado Damage, But There Were No Twisters?
There's brand new video that seems to prove there was a tornado near I-70 in Missouri over the weekend, yet there are no official reports of twisters in the Show Me State. Let's unravel a storm mystery.
Brandon Dix shared video with Weather Nation which they just shared on Facebook about an hour ago.
If you look at Brandon Dix's video, this sure does look like tornado damage to me. Straight line winds don't often down trees of that size.
There's just one tiny problem. For the life of me, I can't find any official tornado warnings or reports from the weekend of June 8 and June 9 in Missouri. What gives? Was this place near Dixon, Missouri get hit by a mystery twister?
There's one possibility about what's going on. The National Weather Service does have records of an EF-0 tornado that struck near Bradleyville, Missouri over Memorial Day Weekend. Their report says "Early Sunday morning, an EF0 tornado crossed Highway 125 1 mile north of Bradleyville, downing tree branches, then uprooting trees east of the Highway. Swirl marks were evident as the tornado tracked across an open field then damaged trees into a hill to the northwest before dissipating."
This theory just raises a different question. Bradleyville is more than 2 hours away from Dixon, Missouri. I could understand a confusion about weekends, but getting the location wrong by that much? Not likely.
Back to my original point, there is photo and video evidence of a twister near Dixon, Missouri, but no official acknowledgement of it. It's Missouri weather being strange again.
