Another Illinois plant appears ready to close which means another mass layoff of 80 workers is imminent based on a new notice submitted to the state.

According to the Illinois Work Net Center site, a manufacturing facility in Chicago will close resulting in the loss of 80 jobs. The new WARN notice that was just posted there reveals that the TreeHouse Foods, Inc. plant located at 4401 W 44th Place in Chicago will be closing. The report stating the plans for a mass layoff says "plant closure" as the reason. The layoffs will begin on September 29, 2025 based on the WARN notice.

Baking Business reported back in April that TreeHouse Foods was in the process of a reorganization. At that time, they reportedly laid off 150 corporate staff in an effort to improve profitability. KGAN reported that 48 workers lost their jobs in July when a TreeHouse Foods plant closed in Iowa.

There is no confirmation at this time if the 80 workers who will be laid off at the end of September will be offered positions at other locations within the company, but it does appear this Chicago, Illinois facility will be closing for good.
