The same Illinois town that made Wayne and Garth famous about 30 years ago now has something of a lottery mystery. Someone in Aurora just won $350,000, but does not seem to be aware of the good fate that has just been dealt them.

This is 407 S. Lake Street in Aurora, Illinois. According to the Illinois Lottery's Unclaimed Prizes site, someone picked up a Lucky Day Lotto ticket here on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 and walked out with a $350,000 winning ticket that they maybe don't know they have.  Schwing!

How much cash will this mystery person take home after the Illinois tax man robs withdraws the legal amount?

According to an online lottery tax calculator, the take-home amount would be somewhere in the neighborhood of $248,000. This newfound wealth would also likely kick you up into a higher tax bracket at the end of the year, but wouldn't that be a lovely problem to solve? Someone may know they have the winning ticket and just not come forward yet. Or, the winning ticket could be sitting in the floorboard of their vehicle. I shudder the thought. Wayne and Garth could get a lot of hockey tickets with that kind of cash.
