Arctic Air to Blast Missouri Soon – Big Snow May Come With It
If you thought the worst part of winter was over, you may want to brace yourself as arctic air is about to blast Missouri soon and it may bring big snow with it.
This is not some hypothetical scenario based on weather computer models, but the official word from the National Weather Service in St. Louis, Missouri. Today, they warned about the week of February 18 through February 22 when temperatures will take a nosedive thanks to cold air from the north.
Overnight lows below zero are to be expected which will mean challenges for plumbing and exposure dangers for anyone outside.
But wait, there's more...
It's still too early to know for sure, but current GFS computer models show a real chance for snow beginning on the afternoon of Tuesday, February 18.
It could become even more prominent on Wednesday, February 19.
There is still no way to be certain about the precipitation next week in Missouri, but the cold temperatures are almost a certainty.
Beware of dangerously cold temperatures next week and the chance that a big snow could accompany the arctic air. We'll know more as we get closer to next week so please pay attention to National Weather Service forecasts beginning late this weekend and early next week.
