Many of us have New Years resolutions. It would appear that businesses do, too. Aldi has announced they have ginormous expansion plans for Illinois in 2025 and it appears they plan to start acting on those plans soon.

I saw this mentioned on the Illinois sub-Reddit. It's a report that originated on the retail industry site Chain Store Age. It's an announcement that Aldi plans to build on to their corporate headquarters at 1200 N Kirk Road in Batavia, Illinois.

The report says that Aldi will add a "new 56,000-sq.-ft. building will feature a green roof pollinator garden, fitness center, third-party food service and conference center".

But wait, that's not all Aldi is doing in Illinois and other states around the country

Chain Store Age also says that Aldi plans to build 800 new grocery stores across America and that will include many new locations in Illinois, too. Their store locator page currently shows 215 Aldi stores in Illinois as of this moment. The expectation is that all of these new stores will be complete by the end of 2028.

If you have big plans for the new year, you have something in common with one of the largest grocery store brands in Illinois.
