According to thegetaway.com, there is more to do in the Ozarks of Missouri than party it up at a bar on a boat. The site released a list of "hidden gems" to do in the Ozarks of the Show-Me State and some of these things we didn't even know existed in Missouri!

What is the number 1 hidden gem in the Ozarks? According to the site, it is the caverns, on the site they say...

"Traverse a dried-up underground river trail and marvel at the unusual rock formations, stalagmites, and other geological features on a 55-minute expert-led tour. This subterranean adventure offers a unique perspective on the region's geological history. It's a cool respite from the summer heat and a fascinating journey into the earth's interior."

If you are like me and wayyyy too claustrophobic to go cavern exploring, some of the other hidden gems on the list include a visit to Wilson's Creek Battlefield which was the second major battle of the Civil War, the Springfield Botanical Gardens, and a visit to the Askinosie Chocolate Factory!

I love this list because if you are headed to the Ozarks obviously, you are going to spend some time at the lake, BUT if you have a rainy day or are looking for something different from your normal touristy lake activities this list provides a ton of unique options to check out.
