One of the Largest Aquariums in the Nation is Located in illinois

There is still time to make your way to one of the largest aquariums in the nation.

Shedd Aquarium in Chicago ranks 3rd as one of the largest in the nation. With a total of 5 million gallons of water, Shedd Aquarium brings people from all over the world every year Personally, it's one of my favorite places to visit when we go to Chicago.

U.S. News gathered the lists of the largest aquariums in the nation and it's not a surprise Shedd's makes this list. The place is huge.

Shedds provides education, shows, touch tanks, interactions with beluga whales, sea otters, penguins, and stingrays, and can even help feed sharks (no thank you). One of the things I love the most about Shedds (besides the amazing animals) is where the aquarium is located. Right on the lake.

So if you go to a beluga whale show you will be able to see the beautiful atmosphere of the lake and it is a site to see. You do have to pay to get into the aquarium, however, throughout the year they do offer free admission to Illinois residents and I would highly suggest taking advantage of those days if you can.
