I will say that this place sounds terrific, my idea of a romantic getaway would 1000% include skyscrapers and fancy dinners overlooking the skyline, but even I could get behind the Makanda Inn. One thing that stands out to me is the fact that it is near the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, I have heard nothing but great things about the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail since I moved to the Quincy area from Chicago. I also love that they won't let you bring young kids to the Makanda Inn, how nice is it knowing you and your partner will be at a place where they can guarantee you there will be no screaming children?
