One of my favorite Super Bowl party memories is from when a buddy of mine, on the way to the party, pulled into Long John Silver's and ordered up 12 dozen hush puppies to bring to the event. This changed my perspective on Super Bowl party food.

My guy rolled up and ordered 144 hush puppies to go

Before that, food at a Super Bowl party (in my mind) was something you made and brought, or was from the grocery store. With that re-adjustment in perspective, I began to look at which local restaurants could provide winning treats for your party, or like my friend, provide a surprise appetizer that everyone would love.

Macaroons from Thyme Square - especially in blue green and red to represent the teams in the game would be fantastic!

Party mac and sides from Fatbacks – They have a big catering menu, with loads of smoky treats to choose from. Party Mac: with barbecue, mac-n-cheese, jalapeños and sauce seems like a winner!

Meats and cheeses always work. Why not combine them?

Pigtails from Riverside BBQ – Unique appetizers call Riverside home, with curly fry pigtails with meat, sauce and cheese. Also, Fried dill pickle spears or spicy corn nuggets would stand out at your gathering.

Chicks on the River – Lips and sauces available in different sizes. Solid apps like: mushroom fries, spicy knuckles, or island slaw.

Something from one of the McLean restaurants – Cheese soup from Kelly’s, Abbey-tizers like their blooming onion, stuffed mushrooms, or hot wings, pizza from Gem City, or chicken nachos from Tower are all local favorites. You could also have one of the local cookie bakers whip up some decorated treats in the logos and colors of the Seahawks and Patriots.

A table full of your favorite local foods makes for a winning party

Pro-tip, don’t just roll up like my friend did and order a gross of something. He had to wait a while from 144 hush puppies to be prepared. Get your idea and reach out to the local restaurant you want represented at your party and make it super spectacular!

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
