Mother’s Day is this Sunday, and if you’re looking for something fun to do with Mom, there are plenty of options that won’t cost a fortune.

Moms don’t need much for Mother’s Day. Some want quality time with family, some just need a little alone time, and others simply want a relaxing, low-key day. Here are a few affordable ways to spend time with Mom this Mother’s Day.

Go for a paddle boat ride at Moorman Lake

I’m not sure what the weather will look like on Sunday, but if it’s nice, taking Mom on a paddle boat ride could be a great family activity. Paddle boat rentals are available at Moorman Lake in Moorman Park. My family and I love doing this every year, and it’s a great way to enjoy one of the most beautiful parks in Quincy.

You could even have a picnic in Moorman Park right after your paddle boat ride. Don’t let Mom cook on Mother’s Day. Even if you just make PB&J sandwiches, she’ll probably appreciate not having to prepare a meal for once. Trust me, sometimes that’s all moms really want.

What mom doesn’t enjoy a little shopping? Shop local, or maybe take the family out of town for the day. There are so many possibilities. You could even turn it into an overnight trip for the whole family; sometimes, everyone just needs a little getaway.

Sometimes moms just need a break. Dads, consider giving Mom a little time to relax and recharge. Take the kids to the park or somewhere fun like Scottie’s Fun Spot for the day. A few hours of peace and quiet might be exactly what Mom wants most.

Go for a hike or walk

There are plenty of trails and walkways around Quincy that the whole family can enjoy together. Hopefully Mother Nature cooperates and gives us a beautiful day to get outside. If walking isn’t your thing, go for a family bike ride instead.

The most important thing is simply spending time with Mom. Every moment and memory means more to her than you can imagine.
