Missouri’s Most Scenic Drive Takes You On A Historical Road Trip
Road trips are the best. They are even better when they take you on a trip through the history of America.

Thrillest just put out their list of the most scenic drives in every state and for Missouri Highway 19 is that road. It shows off the only bands of wild horses in the midwest, Hermann, and what seems to be the best soft-serve ice cream.
Take a Drive on Highway 19
Running North to South from Thayer and New London this highway really does take you to some of the most beautiful places in the Show-Me State.
Highway 19 is a North-South route extending between Thayer and New London. Follow it and you get a taste of American history and the land we created it on. Hermann is a gorgeous village to cruise past, and farther down the road you can catch views of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways.
It seems when lists like this come out somehow Route 66 is on the list, don't get me wrong it's a great highway and piece of history, but it's nice to see another highway getting some love. Missouri has so many beautiful roads and highways and this one (which I have been on) is a fun one to drive on.
This road also takes you through the gorgeous views of the Ozarks and this time of year I am sure there are several locations that are stunning with fall colors and nature. When you are done with your trip make sure you out to the Dairy Shack (located in Eminence) and get some of the best soft-serve ice cream in the state.
