Missouri Native Lands in the Spotlight on ‘The Road’
The new singing competition show on CBS is called “The Road” with contestants competing on stage opening for Keith Urban at shows across the U.S.A. Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan team up with Gretchen Wilson and other country stars to evaluate the performances and decide (along with the audience) who gets to keep touring, and who goes home.
As expected, there are singers from all across the south, and one from Missouri. Forrest McCurren is from Jefferson City in the Show-Me State. He refers to being from “where the Ozarks meet the Big Muddy”. That's an accurate description of Missouri's capital city.
Forrest McCurren - Jefferson City, Missouri
Turns out Forrest McCurren played college soccer at William Jewell College after graduating from Helias High School in Jefferson City in 2009, which means that he played against Quincy University during his time in Liberty, Missouri.

Forrest released his first album (to date) in 2022 called “Oh Me, Oh My”, and his newest single is titled “Small Prayers. Big Blessings”. Being in close proximity to Taylor Sheridan for “The Road” may also provide opportunities for Sheridan to include an existing track or a new original from McCurren for “Yellowstone” or even “Landman”. “The Road” gets rolling Sunday night, October 19th on CBS at 8p.m.
