Why Branson Is Named a Top Christmas Town
From Silver Dollar City’s “An Old Time Christmas” celebration, to the Christmas Light Parade, to the breathtaking 28-foot-tall Nativity Scene high above Mount Branson, this is the perfect place to escape and soak in the sights and sounds of the season. Silver Dollar City alone features more than 6.5 million lights, a dazzling Christmas tree, holiday treats, and shows that bring the spirit of the season to life. It’s one of those places where no matter how old you are, you can’t help but feel like a kid again.
Silver Dollar City’s Record-Breaking Light Displays
And Branson doesn’t stop there. The entire town transforms into a winter wonderland, with drive-through light displays, Christmas markets, live holiday performances, and cozy spots to grab hot chocolate as you take it all in. Every corner of the city seems to find its own way to celebrate.

If there’s one town that knows how to do Christmas right, it’s Branson. I haven’t been there during the holidays yet, but the more I read and write about it, the more I want to experience that magic firsthand. There’s something special about a place that goes all-in for Christmas and shares that joy with every visitor.
