America's Hometown was just named one of America's 50 most charming small towns. The Home and Garden network says Hannibal officers a variety of shops, restaurants, and museums.

Author Samuel Clemens, better known by his pen name, Mark Twain, lived in this Mississippi River town as a boy. In his honor, it offers a variety of shops, museums, riverboat rides and other experiences, many based on his characters.

We know how special Hannibal is, but when a national brand claims that it's one of the best you have to step back a minute to take it all in. We may not visit the Mark Twain Cave, or take a ride on the riverboat often, but for those who experience it for the first time, it is something straight out of a book.

HGTV goes on to mention the National Tom Sawyer Days, the Big River Steampunk Festival, and the many other events and festivals that happen each year in Hannibal. It is one of the best small towns in America. So, even though it's just around the corner make a Hannibal Day sometime this summer.
