Americans and Their Belief in Ghosts

That question comes up a lot this time of year. Do you believe in ghosts? With so many TV shows dedicated to paranormal investigations and groups across the country searching for supernatural activity, it seems that not only do many people believe in ghosts, but some even go looking for them.

State-by-State Survey Results: Illinois & Missouri

A recent survey by Max City Windows asked Americans whether they believe in ghosts and if they’d move out of a home that was haunted. The results? 67% of Missourians said they believe in ghosts and would move if their home were haunted. Nearly 75% of Illinoisans also said they believe in ghosts.

Would You Live in a Haunted Home?

Interestingly, 31% of Illinois residents said they’d buy a home even if they knew it was haunted. I’m not sure I could do that! I’d be way too uncomfortable, always looking over my shoulder, feeling like I was constantly being watched. No, thank you.

Illinois also ranks among the highest states when it comes to believing in ghosts. I’m not sure what caused that number to be so high, but whatever it is, it makes sense that the state has so many ghost tours you can experience for yourself
