I know it's hot right now, but there will be a time in the summer that is ideal for hiking ad exploring some of Missouri State Parks. There are a few hiking trails that make a list of some of the best to try in the summer.
Look, when it comes to hiking I am not that person. I enjoy going for walks and exploring new places, but on cement not in woods and trails. However, if you are a person who likes nature there are some trails in Missouri parks that are simply the best to explore.
Only in Your State named The Devil's Icebox Trail is the best. Now, my shield goes up when it comes to something called The Devil's Icebox. But they say that
The Devil's Icebox Trail is located in Rockbridge Memorial State Park and is one of the most unique trails in the state. This short boardwalk trail may be difficult for those who don't do well with stairs. Once you make it to the bottom of the trail, you will realize why they call it the icebox. The cave formations keep the temperatures lower, which makes for a refreshing hike in the summer.
Hickory Canyons Trail is another must-walk trail. It's located in Ste. Genevieve seems to be best just after it trails to see the waterfalls. Finally, known for being the easier trail in the state, but offering the best vies is the Shut-In Trail in the Sam A Baker State Park. This is a good walking trail for kids, dogs, and even someone like me who is not the best at hiking but maybe wants to start trying.
Any of these parks would be a fun weekend trip to explore and venture through. Looking at waterfalls, and nature, and getting some exercise.
